Green is the colour of hope — but that’s not all. Why our light green turns into a darker, richer emerald, and what that says about us.
Green is the colour of hope. But that’s not all. Green has many meanings — depending on the shade. And so our previous light green is becoming a darker, richer emerald. Why? Quite simply: it suits us and our values better.
Why Emerald?
Dark shades of green not only radiate calm and confidence, but also symbolise tradition and the preservation of beautiful things. And that is precisely what we do: we discover treasures and safeguard them. Like emeralds. The bright green of our early years was fresh and bold; the new shade is deeper, more sombre and suits a company associated with apartment blocks, villas and mansions — things that are older than us and will outlive us.
Green in everyday language
The word ‘green’ is very common in our everyday language. For instance, a successful gardener has a ‘green thumb’, we head out into the ‘countryside’ on holiday, or we praise something ‘to the skies’. There’s even a specific day with ‘green’ in its name: Maundy Thursday. But this actually comes from the word ‘Greinen’, meaning to cry. And that’s not such a good thing. You’d much rather be driving along on a ‘green wave’! And when things are going well, everything is ‘in the green’. If someone takes a liking to you, you’re ‘green’ in their eyes. For us, green has no political significance — we simply like green. We hope you do too!
What ‘green’ has to do with housing
In psychology, the colour green symbolises life and nature. At first glance, these aren’t exactly qualities one associates with a property company. Grey concrete blocks, pragmatism and detachment are more likely to spring to mind. But there are already plenty of property firms like that — a dime a dozen. This is where AKKADIA comes in.
